Jerre Haskew

Jerre Haskew was right in the thick of the folk music boom of the early 1960s. He was a founding member of the Cumberland Trio, which recorded with Chet Atkins at RCA Nashville and toured extensively. After the folk boom waned, Jerre began a long and successful career in banking and venture capital. Along the way he had several investment opportunities including the purchase of the famed Guild Guitar Corporation for which he served as President and CEO 1986-1990. During that time he was able to obtain the endorsements of Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton and many other stars of Rock, Blues and Country music. In 2000 Jerre got the band back together and the Cumberland Trio reunited to record and tour again. Their Reunion Concert album was recorded on November 9, 2001 at the Bijou Theater in Knoxville, Tennessee. The album and tours exposed their music to a whole new generation of fans around the world. In 2015 Jerre released Songs From The Fiery Gizzard a 23 song album of originals by Jerre and his wife Barbara, sung by them, their daughter Holly and granddaughter Sarah. That same year Jerre was inducted into the National Traditional Country Music Hall of Fame. In late 2020 Jerre released a solo album of cover songs, I Was So Much Older Then-I’m Younger Than That Now, to critical acclaim. What’s next for this 80 year old Folk and Country Legend with a career spanning 60 years? Stay tuned.
