

A Note About Hill Day
This is not our regular Fly-In! Hill Day takes us back to our advocacy roots with a no-frills, get-down-to business advocacy blitz.NAMM staff and policy experts will provide support in scheduling meetings and will provide self-paced virtual training. NAMM will provide all materials, information packets, and a detailed "ask" for federal action in support of music education in schools. Advocates attending Hill Day in person are responsible for their own travel related expenses (transportation, housing, meals).
How To Participate
Participation in NAMM Hill Day and pre-event advocacy training is FREE for registrants.

Learn or refresh advocacy skills to contact members of congress and governors about the 2022 “Ask” for funding music education in schools. Training is for everyone and covers scheduling in-person meetings with representatives in Washington, D.C., scheduling virtual meetings, and/or scheduling meetings in home districts. - August 19

Set Meetings with Elected Officials
Training will be provided as will advocacy materials and contact information for schedulers in your state and/or congressional district. There are THREE ways to participate! 1. Join us in Washington, D.C. on September 14 to meet with Members of Congress and/or their staff in-person. 2. Set virtual meetings. 3. Meet with your representatives in your home district. - September 7

You will be matched with other advocates in your congressional district or state, and we will provide your advocacy team with a schedule of all of your meeting times and locations. Please let us know if you plan to conduct your meetings in-person, virtually, or in your home district. - September 14

In-Person Visits with Members of Congress in D.C.
For delegates meeting with Members of Congress in-person in Washington, D.C. Grab a cup of coffee, pick up leave-behind materials, and head to meetings with Members of Congress and/or their education legislative aides. Note that start times may vary depending on meeting schedule and that all meetings will be in Eastern Standard Time. Transportation on own. Hosted light reception to follow.
