Dominic Messinger
Dominic Messinger was inspired to play music by his mother who played the oboe. At the age of ten he started playing the oboe as well and expanded to the saxophone to perform in rock bands. He wrote music for his band, “Love Rush,” which won a music competition. Developing skills as a composer at Bennington College and later USC for graduate school, Dominic was making connections with fellow students and professors who would help him break into the world of composing television and movie scores. Over his fascinating career, Dominic has provided the music for several top-rated soap operas, sitcoms, reality programs and movies. At the time of his NAMM interview in 2022, Dominic had won an incredible 15 Emmy Awards! In 2021, Dominic proudly composed the music for the movie Mission: Joy Finding Happiness In Troubled Times. The film follows the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu as they share their thoughts on how to live with joy even in troubling times. Dominic focused on being authentic to the traditional music of both Tibet and South Africa.
