Four Questions with Chris Lisle

Chris Lisle has over 27 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He has worked in a variety of roles including production designer, lighting designer, production manager, and show producer.
Chris's present and past clients include Robert Plant, Jason Aldean, Judah and the Lion, Miranda Lambert, One Republic, Dave Koz, Danny Gokey, Sugarland, Billy Currington, Peter Frampton, Nick Carter, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Chris Young, Jennifer Nettles, Lee Brice, Kip Moore, Chase Rice, Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau, IEBA, Sara Evans, Keith Urban, LeAnn Rimes, Lee Ann Womack, Phil Vassar, The Recording Academy (Grammy's), and many others.
Chris is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Touring Career Workshop, a non-profit that serves as the "Human Resources for Touring Production Professionals." Chris is a former adjunct instructor at Belmont University, teaching classes on Production Design and Tour/Production Management. Chris is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Music and is a member of the CMA, ACM, and the ESA (Event Safety Alliance).
We sat down with Chris and asked him a few of our favorite questions, and he generously provided a few plots to showcase his latest project for country artist, Chris Young.
What was the first concert that you ever attended?
MC Hammer in 1990! It was the Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em tour.
How does music inspire your work?
I am a huge music fan -of all genres – and whenever I am in my creative mode and drawing up a new design, I will listen to the music that specific act/artist typically plays during their show. I really try to get a feel for how the show flows, and any moods/vibes that need to be captured to support the artist’s performance.
What is your favorite musical production in the past 18 months and why?
It would have to be designing the new Chris Young tour, Raised on Country, that started this past spring. I have worked with him for about eight years now, and in that time his career has grown leaps and bounds. This year's tour was his biggest yet and was just a great experience to get to create something unique for the monumental time in his career.

Why are you excited to attend NAMM 2020?
I am so excited to attend The NAMM Show in January! It opens up a whole lot of new doors for networking and exposure to potential clientele to the artists, managers and other professionals who attend this important gathering.
