NAMM signatory to US Office of Management and Budget concerning Lacey Act declaration requirement

NAMM continues to work with a coalition of business associations to advance needed changes to Lacey Act compliance. NAMM seeks to uphold the intent and goals of the Lacey Act to regulate illegal imports of plant materials and is a signatory to the letter that offers suggestions for an “on demand” declaration option as presented in the November 26 letter to the US Office of Management and Budget.  The letter was submitted as part of ongoing efforts with government regulators to develop a Declaration requirement that is fair, part of a sustainable system, and materially contributes to the reduction of illegal logging.  The full letter can be viewed here.
