UPDATED: 13th semiannual Forest Legality Alliance Meeting Planned for July 14, 15 2015 in Washington DC

The 13th semiannual Forest Legality Alliance meeting will take place on July 14-15, 2015 in Washington, D.C. The meeting will kick off July 14 with FLA and partner updates and a session titled, "Monitoring, Enforment and Verification in Latin America." On July 15, a three speaker panel will report back from the second Global Timber Forum (GTF), which took place on June 9-11, 2015 in Shanghai. After the presentations, Chip Barber (FLA) will moderate a panel discussion. Panelists include:

  • Cindy Squires, International Wood Products Association
  • George White (remote presenation), Independent Consultant 
  • Jessica McGlyn, Independent Consultant​

The last session, "The Role of Industry Associations in Promoting Timber Legality" will feature three timber industry associations from the United States, Latin America, and Europe. The speakers will present their perspectives on what role industry associations play in supporting member efforts to source legal wood. There will be a panel discussion following the presentations. Moderator: Amy Smith (WWF).
