Product Information Exchange Summit

Product information exchange is a primary business process challenge in the music products industry.  Presently there is not a single format that is widely used for product information.

The NAMM Standards Committee has developed two versions of the 'Item' document, neither of which has reached critical mass. Presently most product information is exchanged with Excel documents of various formats.  Even using Excel, the fields used are not consistent with trading partners.

The goal of this meeting will be to create a standard Excel template that can be used for at least 80-90% of product information exchange.  If we can agree on a common format it will simplify information exchange throughout the industry.  What fields and data are absolutely necessary for you?
