Can-Do Musos
Can-Do Musos is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which was established in March 2013 in New York to provide support and guidance to musicians living with a disability from all over the world. It was formed in March 2013 at a meeting at Dom Famularo’s studio on Long Island, New York by Dom, Andrew Hewitt from Australia, David Segal from Connecticut and Mike Mignogna from Tennessee. At the meeting, the frustrations of being a disabled musician were discussed and how we wanted to change things and help people get a chance at fulfilling their dreams. In 2016, 10 Can-Do Musos from across the globe were involved in the British Paralympics Team’s “Yes I Can” campaign which was put together by the BBC in the UK. NAMM 2017, Can-Do Musos opened the Center Stage with a 45 minute performance of 9 disabled musicians from Australia, Chile, Venezuela and the USA. This was well received by an enthusiastic audience. Key players: Andrew Hewitt (Australia) – Andrew is a drummer born with Cerebral Palsy from Sydney, Australia. He is a wheelchair user, but also an international touring drummer.
