Daniela Padrón

Daniela Padrón is a Venezuelan-American violinist, nominated to the Latin Grammy (2013) as the violinist of the acclaimed Venezuelan world music band Gaêlica, in the Folk Music Category. - Daniela released her first soloist album "Bach to Venezuela" in May 2016, where she adapts some of the most well known masterpieces of Johann Sebastian Bach into different Venezuelan Folk Rhythms including joropo, gaita, merengue among others. With this project Daniela has performed in South Florida, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Anaheim and Caracas (Venezuela). - Daniela is a proud Conductor for one of the children orchestras of the Miami Music Project, an institution that uses music as a tool for social transformation. She also runs her private studio with local and international students in Miami, Florida. - Along with her mother, the renowned Venezuelan pianist Olga López, she is in the recording process to release (in the second half of 2018) a duet album (violin-piano) that would feature Latin American academic composers. Full Bio: Daniela Padrón, the Venezuelan-American violinist, was born in Caracas on May 20th, 1987. She started her musical development at the age of 3, in the Manuel Alberto Lopez Experimental Music School in Caracas, Venezuela. The Mozarteum Foundation awarded Ms. Padrón with a scholarship to further her studies under the renowned French violinist, Virginie Robillard. In 2005, she received her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, under the guidance of Professors Jose Elias Zapata, Ma. Fernanda Montero, and Virginie Robillard. Ms. Padrón has appeared at some of Venezuela’s most prestigious halls, including Teresa Carreño Cultural Complex, Central University of Venezuela, and Lia Bermudez Arts Center. She has been under the baton of Gregory Carreño, Pablo Castellanos, Sergio Bernal, Oswaldo Pajares, Abiram Brizuela, and Roberto Gianola. Her Orchestral engagements include National Philharmonic Orchestra of Venezuela, Miranda Symphony, Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra of Anzoátegui, and Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra. In 2000 Daniela participated in Meadowmount School of Music Summer Academy, in the state of New York, where she had the opportunity to receive classes with the renowned Sally Thomas (The Julliard School). She received top prizes in the “Escuela de Música Olga López” (EMOL) Violin Competition and the Maurice Hasson National Violin Competition, in Venezuela both 2001 and 2003. Staring 2009, she serves as the violinist of the acclaimed world music band “Gaelica”, which has been touring throughout the whole Americas, including the Colony Theatre in Miami (2009) and the World Music Festival in Panama (2012). Gaelica was nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards 2013, in the Folk Album category. Ms. Padrón is also a regular guest violinist in live concerts and on the recording albums of renowned artists such as Frank Quintero, César Muñoz, Luis D’Elias and Masseratti 2lts, among others. In 2009 Ms. Padron was appointed violin chairperson at the Manuel Alberto Lopez School of Music in Caracas, where she taught students from age 4 until adulthood. Her students performed on several prestigious stages and won top prizes. In addition, she served as manager, public relation specialist, and administrative dean. Since she moved with her husband to Miami, Florida in August 2012, Ms. Padrón has worked as a teaching artist at the Miami Music Project, an institution that uses music as an instrument for social transformation. Daniela is a proud Orchestra Conductor of one of the Miami Music Project’s children orchestras. She also runs her private studio with local and international students. In May 2016, Daniela released her first soloist album “Bach to Venezuela”, where she fusions the music of the great German composer, Johann Sebastian Bach, with different folk rhythms from her home country, Venezuela. Since the album release she has been touring in South Florida, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston Dallas, Phoenix, Anaheim and Caracas (Venezuela), performing concerts and recitals, and leading workshops about “Bach to Venezuela”, Venezuelan rhythms and instruments in different universities, music academies and educational institutions. Along with her mother, the renowned Venezuelan pianist Olga López, she is in the recording process to release (in the second half of 2018) a duet album (violin-piano) that would feature Latin American academic composers. Ms. Padrón holds both, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Universidad Metropolitana - Caracas, Venezuela 2009) and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance (Escuela Experimental de Música Manuel Alberto López - Caracas, Venezuela 2005).
