Rodney Taylor Bio The Passionate and soulful sounds that flow from Rodney Taylor’s Saxophone have thrilled music lovers for many years. His early performances were mainly in the Gospel arena, where he appeared as a Saxophonist, Composer, and Producer for the singing duo “Phil and Brenda Nicholas”. From there Rodney began to be a “go to” Sax Man for television theme songs for shows like Robert Townsend’s “The Parent Hood”, and “High Society”, that also featured legendary vocalist Chaka Khan. Other notable Artists on Rodney’s credit list include Deniece Williams, El Debarge, Brian McKnight, Vesta Williams, Doc Powell, and Edwin Hawkins among many others. Most recently to his credit was the three years he spent with Anita Baker, where she featured him to the result of nightly standing ovations. Rodney’s discography as a solo Recording Artist Features the titles, “Soul 411” from his gospel days, “Blow By Blow”, “Unwrapped For Christmas”, and “Can I Blow For You”, that featured the single entitles “Passion”. Within weeks “Passion” climbed to number 11 on the National Smooth Jazz Charts. Currently as an Artist, Rodney is working on his next Music and Video release as well as performing his live high energy shows, where he and his live band are accompanied by several images of himself playing Rodney’s background sax parts.
