United States Opens to International Travelers

On November 8, the United States officially eased international travel restrictions, allowing certain citizens of foreign countries the ability to travel to the United States.

Non-U.S. citizens can enter the United States if they can:

  • Show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID19
  • Show a negative COVID19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 upon travel

At this time, any foreign citizen who is not vaccinated is not allowed to enter or travel into the country, unless they meet certain limited exceptions.

Travelers must wear masks over their noses and mouths in all indoor areas of public transportation, including while inflight.

If you are not fully vaccinated and are granted an exception to travel into the United States by air, you must get tested with a viral test 3 – 5 days after arrival, quarantine for a full 7-day period and isolate if you test positive or develop COVID-19 symptoms.
