<p>Rock camps have been part of the music lessons scene for years, but Menzie Pittman has taken to the concept to a new level. At his business, Contemporary Music Center, he not only hosts summer camps but also a year-round program that has put his store on the map.<br />

<span>At the 2014 NAMM Show, Pittman shared what it takes to succeed when hosting rock camps.</span><span> He also looked at how they can lead to</span><span> new ideas for a business and build your brand as an independent music retailer.</span><br />

<span>"In order to succeed with rock camps, it has to be genuine," Pittman said. "The higher quality you put in, the higher quality you get back."</span></p>
