Carla Olson
Carla Olson grew up playing in 60’s cover bands all the while cutting her teeth as a songwriter. After performing in the band Silver Clouds, Carla teamed with Markus Cuff, David Provost and Kathy Valentine to form the Textones in 1978. Carla left after a few years, as did some of the other founders. Many years later, in 2018, the band's original members reunited to record a new album. Of course Carla was busy in all the years between! In 1986 Carla co-wrote the song “Trail Of Tears” with Eric Johnson, as well as a number of tunes for Percy Sledge including “Rubies & Diamonds” and “Misty Morning.” While she continues to perform and write, Carla is also a noted record producer who has worked with Phil Upchurch, Paul Jones, Ana Gazzola and Kris Wiley, among others. Her passion to perform for others is at the core of her drive and she shows no sign of slowing down!
