Glenn Roberts

Glenn Roberts is the president of Best Music in Oakland, California, which was first established in 1934. The store was established by Art Best during the Great Depression and soon became a cultural center within the community. When Glenn was in high school he began teaching music and formed a jazz combo that played up and down the Bay Area. In 1963 Glenn was hired to teach at Best Music, staying with the store until 1970 when it was put up for sale. With the help of his father, Glenn bought a third interest in the store, and by 1980 had bought out the other owners. Over the years Glenn has worked on building the brands as well as the store’s school programs.
