Richard Gore

Richard Gore’s father was a band director who expanded the school’s bookstore into a music store in Denton, Texas.  As the store grew, Richard’s passion for music grew, as did his interest in the sheet music sold in the store.  Richard’s parents, Harold and Betty, welcomed him into the business in 1980 and soon after, Richard convinced his parents to computerize the business.  Over the years the company expanded to be both a retailer as well as a music publisher.  Richard is also a strong supporter of RPMDA, serving on the board and winning the organization’s top award for contributions to the industry, the Dorothy Award.  Richard also served on the NAMM Board from 2002-2005 and has been a strong supporter of the NAMM Oral History program.
