Be mindful of worker classification. If you have a lessons program and dictate a teacher’s dress, hours and curriculum, you must treat that music teacher as an employee. It may be more expensive, but it’s safer than owing back payroll and unemployment taxes if a tax auditor reclassifies that teacher as an employee. Be aware and bewareto avoid paying penalties.
