Demonstrating a continued commitment to serve its community of professional audio members and attendees, The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) has announced it will feature DanteTM training and certification sessions at its annual Anaheim, California trade show, January 20-21.

School districts and schools with an exemplary commitment to music education curriculum are encouraged to apply for a national distinction as a Best Communities for Music Education.

NAMM Musikmesse Russia and Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia (September 14-17) concluded after four days of events, demonstrations, meetings, professional development opportunities, and exhibitions.

Professional live sound will be in the spotlight at the 2017 NAMM Show with a dedicated track of seminars, panels and education that will focus on the world of touring audio. As part of the show’s TEC Tracks programming, Live Sound Day (Thursday, January 19) will bring together the industry’s top engineers, thought-leaders and brands in sound reinforcement to discuss key industry topics, offer advice and deliver training in a series of educational sessions.

In a star-studded event on Saturday, September 17, Memphis legends, music education patrons and community champions came together to “Play it Forward” at the Museum of Making Music’s (MoMM) Gala fundraiser event, “Soul, STAX, and Memphis Tracks.” The annual Gala event was attended by 150 museum patrons and raised over $55,000 in donations that will grant music education programs, museum access and scholarships to both children and adults in the San Diego community.

The NAMM Foundation has announced  nominees for its 32nd Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards in the categories of Outstanding Technical and Creative Achievement. Stand-up comedian and actor Sinbad will return for his third straight year as host.

Calling all school music programs: The NAMM Foundation and The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus are gearing up to bring a hands-on and high-tech music-making experience to three school districts with a recording residency on The Lennon Bus.

On Saturday, September 10, NAMM’s Museum of Making Music (MoMM) celebrated the debut of Spotlight on Casio, the latest addition to the museum’s many exhibits and musical instrument collections.

The NAMM Oral History program celebrated a milestone this week: the release of the program’s 3,000th interview. Featuring 22-time Grammy winner and legendary jazz musician Chick Corea, the interview covered the people and musical instruments that helped to shape his career, as well as his continued passion for making music and in inspiring other musicians.
