What does it take to make a living as an independent songwriter? Join Thornton Cline and his panel of experts for an insider’s look at the business. Cline, an award-winning hit songwriter, will be joined by successful songwriters, artists and producers. They’ll share their experiences and expertise on how they make a living in the competitive world of songwriting.
Panelists:
Steven Gould is an award-winning Canadian artist/songwriter/ producer/engineer who has worked with Alanis Morissette, Bryan Adams, Jeff Healey, Harem Scarem and other recognized and indie artists. His work has also been featured in tv and film and performed around the globe. He currently resides and works in California.
Bryce Hitchcock is an Indie singer-songwriter and actress from Nashville, TN. She plays several instruments, loves performing and collaborating with other artists.
Jud Friedman is a six-time Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy nominated hit songwriter/producer who has written songs “Run To You” for Whitney Houston from “The Bodyguard” film (with sales of over 30 million), “I Don’t Have the Heart” for James Ingram (which was Number One on the Billboard Hot 100) and “For the First Time” for Kenny Loggins, from the film “One Fine Day” with George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer. Additional recordings by Barbra Streisand, Ray Charles, Tina Turner and Rod Stewart.
Thornton Cline has been honored twice-in-a-row for "Songwriter of the Year" for his hit "Love is the Reason" recorded by Engelbert Humperdinck and Gloria Gaynor. He has received Dove and Grammy nominations for his songs. Cline has had over 150 of his over 1,000 published songs recorded by major and independent artists. Cline is a published author of eight books (children's books and novels).
