Janine Ryder

Janine Ryder and her husband, Bob, owned La Jolla Music on Girard Avenue for several years beginning in the 1990s.  At the time, the store needed new product brands, which Janine expanded by replacing  the store's instruments offerings from Asian made to those manufactured by Selmer, Yamaha, Taylor Guitars, Raimundo and Lyon & Healy, among others.  In 2016, Janine and her husband, along with the store’s founder, Jim Peterson, sat down in the store together for their NAMM Oral History interview, allowing a wonderful opportunity to capture the rich history of the store.
