Abel Sanchez

Abel Sanchez is the noted restoration expert for such piano brands as Steinway and Chickering. Abel was born and raised in northern Mexico on the cattle ranch along with seven brothers. By the late 1950s, he moved to San Diego where he began working for two music stores as a piano technician. Some of his training came from his two uncles who were furniture builders, as well as an older Steinway factory worker who moved to San Diego to retire. In 1964, he and his wife opened their own store, The Piano Place, which provided piano services such as restoration and moving as well as retailing new pianos.
