Parnelli Awards 20: Keep the Torch Lit Online Presentation

The Retrospective will be a part of NAMM’s Believe in Music Week.

The Parnelli Awards Production Team has decided to take advantage of this “gap year” to look back at 20 years of Parnelli Awards. The 30-minute presentation will include a two-decade highlight reel, our memorial video saying goodbye to those we’ve lost this year, and some well-wishes and/or irreverent words from Parnelli Awards Executive Producer Terry Lowe. Chairman of the Board of Advisors Marshall Bissett, and TPI’s Michael and Elizabeth O’Keefe.

The event will stream live on Friday, January 22 at 5 pm PST, 8 pm EST through NAMM’s Believe in Music event being held from January 18–22. Everyone is encouraged to register for this on January 11th at attend.believeinmusic.tv. When the NAMM event opens on January 11, it can be accessed at believeinmusic.tv and users can log-in via details sent by the registration confirmation. A full NAMM schedule is part of the navigation and attendees just need to search and click to see content.

“The reality is we would have never had the time or resources to dig through all the wonderful memories and hilarious moments that have happened at the Parnelli’s since the first one in 2001,” says Lowe. “But we are all glad we did. We found some VHS video of the second show, hundreds of great pictures, and video clips of artists that have participated including Alice Cooper, Brooks & Dunn, Paul Anka, Mick Jagger, Brad Paisley, Tom Petty and so many others. We’ve really enjoyed reliving those moments in a highlight reel we think you will too.”

Also be sure to watch the Pro Production Sessions presented by PLSN and FOH magazines as part of the NAMM Believe in Music Week Entertainment Technology Track on Jan. 21st and 22nd. Each of these half-hour long videos will offers an in-depth look at the direction of entertainment production, including two sessions on the groundbreaking uses of XR technology that is redefining the immersive possibilities of live production environments. Don’t miss these four compelling video sessions to get insights from some of the leading creative production minds propelling the live entertainment industry forward as they work with the top musical artists of the day.

Lowe adds that the Keep the Torch Lit presentation, along with the special Parnelli section in the January editions of PLSN and FOH magazines, would not be possible without the generosity of the sponsors.

Gold: 4 Wall Entertainment; All Access; Bandit Lites; d&b audiotechnik; Harmon; Maryland Sound Inc.; Meyer Sound; Rock-It Cargo; Sound Image; and Strictly FX.

Silver: Elation Professional; Global Trends Production; Hemphill Brothers; and Stage Line. TPI is a Production Partner.

“We hope you join us for our Pro Production sessions and then Friday night be there for this highlight reel, raise a glass, and help us keep the torch lit until January 2022 when we meet again in person,” Lowe says. “At that point, we’ll be celebrating a spectacular year.”
