From Hire to Fire—Keys to Creating a Dream Team
A solid staff is at the core of a great store. Peter Dods created a program to review employees and get those that aren’t a good fit to move on. Over the years he has developed and refined this concept, using it to avoid heartache when removing unsatisfactory employees and to reward the people who really make his place work. Join Peter for this session about what to do with a new hire, from presenting the program to them, to implementing it. He will walk you through the review process (ongoing and probationary), and then apply those reviews to promotion and firing processes. He will also explain his employee contract, a form people sign when they are on the "fence" acknowledging where they are falling short and stating that they must comply with protocol in a certain time frame or they will be out. Another valuable part of the process, this helps limit unemployment insurance problems and potential lawsuits. You’ll leave with a great plan for creating a top-notch team of employees.
