NAMM is pleased to announce the launch of the organization’s newest podcast, “The Music History Project.” The podcast is led by the NAMM Oral History Resource Center and features the people and products that define our audible experience. From music product innovators and creators to influential music store retailers and topline performing artists, the podcast connects listeners with luminaries across the musical spectrum.

As a platform to develop new business strategies, connect with industry peers and to springboard into a successful second-half of the year and the all-important holiday sales season, the 2017 Summer NAMM Show welcomed a plethora of buyers, exhibitors, artists, industry veterans and music professionals last week at Music City Center in Nashville (July 13-15).

Echoing the long-term stability of the 117-year-old organization, the NAMM Board of Directors unanimously voted in the next slate of officers earlier today at Summer NAMM in Nashville. At the meeting, the board officially welcomed each industry leader to new roles, representing a balanced composition of retail and commercial members. The 2017 Executive Committee includes Chair Robin Walenta, Vice-Chair Chris Martin IV, Treasurer Joel Menchy and Secretary Tom Sumner.

Earlier today at the Summer NAMM Show, The NAMM Foundation announced the appointment of five industry leaders to the organization’s newly created board of directors. Chris Martin, President and CEO of C.F.

NASHVILLE – July 14, 2017 –  Earlier this evening at Nashville’s Music City Center, The National Association of Music Merchants honored the Top 100 Dealers in the industry and announced the list of enterprising music product retailers who received “Best of” awards for their excellence in several areas, including the coveted “Dealer of the Year” award.

The NAMM Foundation has announced that the organization will benefit 24 different music education programs with $675,000 in grants, an increase made possible by NAMM Foundation donors. The beneficiaries, located both domestically and abroad, provide access and instruction to a variety of different communities and demographics.

More than 25 iconic buildings and landmarks across the United States will turn orange in support of Make Music Day, the annual global celebration of music occurring each June 21 and featuring over 4,000 free, outdoor concerts, music lessons and jam sessions in more than 60 U.S. cities. The daylong musical celebration on the summer solstice brings people of all ages, backgrounds and skills levels together to make music.

The 2017 Summer NAMM Show is set to welcome a variety of music legends as it returns to Nashville’s Music City Center, July 13-15. The annual summer gathering of the music product, pro audio and entertainment tech community brings together top brands, professional development sessions and an opportunity to network with peers, with Music City as the backdrop.

4,000+ Live, Free Outdoor Music-Making Events to be Held in More than 60 U.S. Cities on June 21

Make Music Day, the annual global celebration of music occurring each June 21, today announced its full schedule of over 4,000 free, outdoor concerts, music lessons and jam sessions – with more to come – in over 60 U.S. cities. The all-day musical celebration on the summer solstice brings people of all styles, ages and skill levels together to make and enjoy music.
