At the Summer NAMM Show, held June 23-25 at Nashville’s Music City Center, the professional recording sector will gather for three days of high-end training. Delivered as the core component of Summer NAMM Show, the TEC Tracks program will feature a full series of seminars from industry leaders and insiders, and will include expert engineering tutorials, mastering secrets from the AES, recording advice, and even a glimpse into the future of audio.
The NAMM Foundation has announced that through the remainder of 2016, the organization will make $600,000 in grants to 18 music education programs. The beneficiaries reflect the organization’s commitment to supporting access to quality music education programs and creating more music makers both domestically and internationally through work with organizations in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France and Great Britain.
Last week, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), along with 91 music industry leaders and artists made up a delegation of advocates furthering the case that all children deserve quality, comprehensive school music education programs during the NAMM Music Education Advocacy D.C. Fly-In (May 23-26, 2016).

WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 25, 2016 – On Monday evening, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) honored Senator Lamar Alexander (TN) with the organization’s SupportMusic Champion Award. The award was given in recognition of the Senator’s long history in music education advocacy and comes on the heels of the historic passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), a bill introduced by Senator Alexander and signed into law by President Obama in 2015.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 25, 2016 – At a reception held last night, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) presented leading artists, creative luminaries and champions of arts education from the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities program, Turnaround Arts, with the SupportMusic Champion award. The award was given as designation of each artist’s commitment to increasing access to arts in schools, and dedication to expanding arts education.
On Thursday, May 19, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and representatives from its membership will travel to Sacramento to join arts leaders and music educators to ask members of the California Assembly for their support in updating the state’s Visual and Performing Arts standards (VAPA). The state’s existing VAPA standards were last updated in 2001 and leave students without access to modern curriculum, instruction, and materials in the arts.
