Amid a backdrop of arts education budget cuts, The NAMM Foundation today announced that it will continue its effort to recognize schools across the United States that support music education and provide opportunities for children and young people to learn and grow with music. 

The second day of the NAMM Show drew a strong crowd to the morning Breakfast Session called “Lessons Learned: How Doing Business Now Has Changed for the Better,” which focused on sharpening retail business techniques.

The NAMM Show, the largest music products trade show in the world, opened today at the Anaheim Convention Center welcoming tens of thousands of musical instrument manufacturers, retailers and associates to the industry’s annual gathering. The trade show has been bringing professionals together for more than a century to exhibit, view and stock retailers’ stores for the year ahead with the newest and hottest music products on the market.

The first day of the NAMM Show drew a capacity-crowd to the Breakfast of Champions opening show session at the Anaheim Hilton in the early morning hours, where NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond welcomed numerous industry laureates who shared valuable industry insight with attendees.

Continuing its 109-year-old commitment to the piano industry, NAMM today announced a roster of special performances and educational sessions at the upcoming 2011 NAMM Show for piano dealers. On May 2, 2011, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) will again partner with the Canadian-based Coalition of Music Education in its seventh annual Music Monday. The North America-wide event celebrates the many proven benefits of making music for people of all ages and in the U.S. serves as the kick-off to NAMM's fifth annual National Wanna Play Music Week.
