-Summer NAMM registration – now open- The Retail Training Summit returns to Summer NAMM (July 18-20) in Nashville as the premier one-day training opportunity for music retail businesses. Designed for all levels of retail expertise, the Summit will offer four new trainings on retail management, content creation, marketing and the new tax laws impacting business and offer past popular tracks on retail sales and succession.

NAMM Musikmesse Russia, the international fair for musical instruments, sheet music, music production, and music business connections, returns September 10-12 at the Sokolniki Center in Moscow. Since 2012, the fair has established itself as a popular music event for a wide audience and the only platform in Russia for business, training, and meetings of music industry professionals. Recently, there has been a significant amount of interest from music makers.

This week, The NAMM Foundation recognized 623 school districts in 41 states as among the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME). Now in its 20th year, the program honors schools and school districts for outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders and their support for music education.

The NAMM Foundation and the Reisman Family have announced a fund in honor of NAMM board member, music education advocate and industry leader, Liz Reisman; she was 55 when she passed away 30 months after being diagnosed with brain cancer.

Fresh off a multitude of pro audio product debuts, new innovations and a celebration of technical and creative achievements, the NAMM TEC Awards council has announced a call for entries to be honored at The 35th annual NAMM TEC Awards.

NAMM welcomes its global retail members to be recognized for retail excellence as part of the organization’s annual Top 100 Dealer Awards. Now in its ninth year and held during the Summer NAMM Show (July 18-20) in Nashville, the annual awards honor retailers who have demonstrated a commitment to best-practices, creativity, and innovation in music products retail. The submission process will open on Friday, March 15 to current NAMM retail members and will close on Friday, April 5.

During the course of four days at The 2019 NAMM Show, the global leaders of the music products, pro audio and event technology industries gathered at the Crossroads for new product introductions, business opportunities, networking and fresh inspiration.

Yesterday at The 2019 NAMM Show, 37 NAMM member companies were honored with the NAMM Milestone Award. The award, presented by NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond, recognizes music businesses that have flourished through changing business environments to reach a noteworthy anniversary.

Earlier today at the Annual Meeting of Members at The 2019 NAMM Show, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) welcomed eight new board members to the organization’s Board of Directors. Each board member will serve a three-year term and provide oversight, input, and direction to the organization.
