Today, NAMM's Museum of Making Music (MoMM) announced that after several years of planning, the beloved institution will undergo a complete renovation as it continues to serve and grow its audience's appreciation and understanding for music products, their history, industry, and related cultural impact.

NAMM members, arts and music education advocates are encouraged to join together on Tuesday, June 16, for the organization’s Music Advocacy Summit. The half-day summit will bring together arts and music education experts and policymakers for an advocacy briefing and training to prepare delegates to contact Members of Congress, as well as state and local officials, about the essential role of music education for every child. It’s a message that is perhaps more important than ever before.

Make Music Day, the worldwide music celebration held each June 21, the summer solstice, is going virtual this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers officially announced today.

On Friday, March 27, NAMM will launch “#MusicISLife – A Tribute to Healthcare Professionals,” an online, social gathering opportunity for music-makers of all abilities to join in paying tribute to the steadfast dedication and resilience of healthcare professionals across the globe. While there is no set song or instrument to perform, participation is easy: all people are encouraged to make music at 6:00 p.m. ET in tribute to those on the frontlines battling this pandemic.

On Tuesday, March 24, NAMM will present important updates regarding the federal COVID-19 Emergency Aid Package (funds family leave, free testing and treatment, paid sick leave, expanded unemployment assistance, and more), SBA disaster relief loans, and employee/employer financial support. NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants, has recently joined the World-ETF, the World Entertainment Technology Federation. The organization joins fellow international industry associations, Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA), Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA), and The German Entertainment Technology Association (VPLT), who co-created the federation to debate and examine the role of entertainment technology around-the-world.

With the start of the new decade, leaders, innovators, experts, and artists across music products, pro audio, and entertainment technology gathered at the "Crossroads" of the global industry, The 2020 NAMM Show. Held January 16-19, in Anaheim, California, the four days of the annual gathering saw professionals convene to launch and discover the next decade of business opportunities and celebrate music-making.

Winners in 23 technical and eight creative excellence categories were announced at the 35th Annual NAMM TEC AWARDS, Saturday, January 18, from the global NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA. Presented by The NAMM Foundation and held annually, the event recognizes the exemplary achievements and innovations behind the sound of recordings, live performances, films, television, video games and multi-media. Comedian, actor and musician Fred Armisen took to the podium to host.

The 19th Annual Parnelli Awards, the “Grammys” of the live event Industry, was well on its way to be a record-breaking, talent-heavy, memorable event — and then Garth Brooks showed up, surprising the more than 750 people who packed the Anaheim Hilton’s Pacific Ballroom during the NAMM show on Jan. 17.
