Live music is returning to NAMM’s Museum of Making Music (MoMM) in September. Guitarist Jackie Venson will take the stage on September 9, marking the first notes to grace the museum stage in over a year.
The NAMM TEC Committee is honored to present the 37th Annual TEC Awards in June at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. 
Earlier this month at Summer NAMM, Bertrand’s Music took home the Innovation Award at the Top 100 Dealer Awards. The retailer was honored for its innovative thinking as it took on the challenges with instrument sanitization and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Buddy Harman was born in 1928 as Murray Mizell Harman Jr. in Nashville, Tennessee. Raised in a musical household as both of his parents played in a band, with his mother playing drums, Harman purchased his first drum kit, a set from Slingerland, while in high school with money earned from his job at a local movie theater.
Virtuosity Musical Instruments in Boston, Massachusetts, played a critical role in reuniting a lost flute with its owner last month. Thanks to an employee's keen eye and databases of lost and stolen instruments, a $13,000 instrument was returned to its rightful owner after nearly a decade.
The MIDI™ Association is marking “May is MIDI Month,” with a fundraising initiative to raise $24,000 for the Children’s Music Fund™ (CMF). This year marks the second consecutive year that the May is MIDI Month campaign will aim to assist this non-profit.

Five Star Guitars of Beaverton, Oregon, has been named NAMM’s Top 100 Dealer of the Year at Believe in Music week (January 18 – 22). NAMM’s Top 100 Dealer of the Year award is selected by an independent panel of judges. Previous award recipients include Cosmo Music Co. (2019), Andertons Music Co. (2018), and A & G Central Music (2017).
Even though the in-person global gathering, The NAMM Show, was canceled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic in January 2021, NAMM was able to bring together the music products industry for a one-of-a-kind event, Believe in Music week.
Believe in Music Week is rapidly approaching, and with it, much like a child waiting for Christmas, the industry is buzzing with the promise of exciting programming from across the industry in first-ever digital gathering to unify and support the people who bring music to the world.
